 Elise Wallace is the founder and chief editor for CupcakeActivist.com, one of the foremost cupcake websites in the U.S.. Elise is a lover of all things sweet, but has always had a deeper affinity for cupcakes. So when the cupcake craze struck and shops began to open up everywhere, she found her new calling in life, reviewing the latest recipes, bake shops, trends, and all other things cupcake-related. Her website has brought us reviews from local Orange County shops, to cupcakes from across the country, and even chronicles her search for cupcakes in places as far off as Rome, Italy. Elise has been a judge at many popular cupcake competitions, including Cupcake Camp OC and the OC Fair’s first cupcake competition. And now at Sugar Rush!

Orangewood Children's Foundation - Our Donation

Learn more about where we will be donating. 

 Orangewood Children's Foundation began 25 years ago with a vision to build a facility to shelter Orange County children who were the victims of abuse, neglect and abandonment.

After its construction, the operations and administration of the Orangewood Children's Home were turned over to the county's Social Services Agency.

Today our focus is on the ongoing needs of children in the foster care system, developing a wide range of activities, scholarships, support and programs to give every child every chance to succeed.

Spicy Pork Tacos, Kimchi Quesadillas and Short Rib Sliders satiate the hungry mouths of Angelenos who crave excellent food on a dime budget.  Quality Korean barbecue meets traditional, homemade tortillas and fresh veggies to create a taste that carries the rhythms of LA street culture and exudes the warmth of all that California sun.  Under the direction of Chef Roy Choi, Kogi has developed a menu that delivers high-end food at street level prices.

Twitter is used to communicate truck locations and Chef Roy Choi’s daily specials to well over 50,000 loyal followers.  Add some wheels to the mix and you’ve got yourself a restaurant that geographically responds to the flavor of the crowd – from Silver Lake to Eagle Rock to all the way down to Orange.  Currently Kogi operates 4 trucks – Azul, Verde, Naranja and Roja – and fresh out of the kitchen at the Alibi Room in Culver City.

Jason Iehl and Kim Nelson, editors of SaturdayNightFoodies.com, are the consummate foodies.  The husband and wife duo combine their passion for food, cooking and travel, with the need to tell the world about their crazy food adventures. They have even been known to plan entire vacations around food or take off on a “Saturday Night”, tempted by something they just saw on the Food Network or Cooking Channel. In addition to publishing restaurant and gourmet food truck reviews from their travels and keeping readers apprised of the latest food trends, Jason, a former chef, chronicles his culinary delights on the website’s “Test Kitchen”.  Kim, who wants to be Martha Stewart when she grows up, practices her baking skills whenever she can kick Jason out of the kitchen.
